How to integrate Pivotal Tracker with Time Doctor

Here we will show you how to link your Pivotal Tracker account to your Time Doctor account so you can easily track time on Pivotal Tracker tasks from the within the Time Doctor desktop application.

You will of course need to have a Pivotal Tracker account to integrate that account with Time Doctor. Also, if another user has logged into Pivotal Tracker on your current browser session, it is important that they log out completely from the Pivotal Tracker website so that Time Doctor doesn't sync with their account by accident. It's okay if you are logged into the Pivotal Tracker account that you do wish to integrate with.

(Regular users or managers can skip to step 6 after their administrator or company owner has enabled the company's integration in steps 1-5.)

1.) For company owners or admins: Before individuals in a company can enable the integration, the company owner or admin will need to turn on the integration for the whole company on the company integrations page. The company owner or admin can get there from the main Time Doctor web dashboard by clicking left menu bar -> click on company logo > Company Integrations

2.) Find the Pivotal Tracker Integration on the list of integrations:

3.) You will see this screen, where you will need to enter your API token and then click "Turn it On":

4.) To get your API token, visit your Pivotal Trackter profile page and scroll all the way to the bottom to find the API token. Copy and paste it into the window on step 3:

Scroll down to the page to find API key

5.) Once the API token is pasted, and you click on "Turn it on," your company integration setup is complete. (You will also have your own personal integration active by default as well, but you may disable this if you like.) This confirmation page will let you know that everything went well:

6.) For a regular user or manager, the process is very similar. After the company wide integration is active, navigate to the left menu bar -> click on company logo -> Your Integration and look for the Pivotal Tracker API Token field and ON/OFF switch:

7.) See step 4 above for information on how to get your API token from your Pivotal Tracker profile page. (Do note, you may need to click on the "Create new token" button on Pivotal Tracker's profile page if you are not the company owner.) Paste it into the field on Time Doctor's Integration page, then click on the ON/OFF switch. That's all there is too it!
